STEP 1: UP Global Application
Start the process by filling our initial application form here. The Application does not put you under any obligations. Alternatively, you can contact us, and we will tell you more about our programs.
STEP 2: Meeting at the office or in a Teams meeting
We at UP Global always want to discuss with you and your parents. In the meeting, we discuss about your hopes, goals, and possible school options. We also create a budget for your exchange year and talk about how everything works. After that, it is time to decide if you want to join our program.
STEP 3: The Application Package
When your spot in our program has been secured, we start filling out the application. We will send you and your parents the application package with detailed instructions. The application package is an important part of the process, and we will personally help you to complete it.
STEP 4: The Language Test
You will participate in an English language test with other applicants. The tests take place in Helsinki and Tampere.
STEP 5: Game Plan
The UP Global designs you a personal Game Plan, that is a list of schools that fit in your hopes, plans, and budget. You will meet representatives from those schools in person, and you are able to ask questions and get to know them and some of their alumni.
STEP 6: Meetings with the Schools
Choosing the right school is an important part of a successful exchange year. You will meet the representatives of the schools in your Game Plan in our own virtual platform before the final decisions. Read more about the meetings here.
STEP 7: The Contract with the School
The boarding schools make their decisions of selected students usually during March. You will accept your enrollment in the school by signing the contract papers with the school.
STEP 8: The Orientation Day and the summer preparations
You will participate in the orientation in May, if you wish.
The Universal Players will walk you through the summer preparations such as health documents, course selections, study permits and visas.
